Passchendaele
A sweeping romance set against the backdrop of the First World War, Passchendaele follows the fortunes of three people caught in the vortex of great conflict. Sarah Mann is a nurse who falls in love with a wounded sergeant she returns to health. Her younger brother, although unfit for service, enlists for combat, determined to erase a family shame. The sergeant selflessly returns to the battlefield in an effort to protect the boy. With nothing left at home, unbeknownst to the men in her life, Sarah follows them to the slaughter yard of Flanders. There, amidst the horror of war, the inexorable weight of fate leads to an astonishing act of sacrifice and love.
